Hymenoplasty ,also known as hymen restoration surgery, is a surgical intervention that aims to reconstruct said skin membrane located in the lower half of the vagina. This fibrous and elastic tissue is normally torn with the first intercourse. It can also break due to an accident, fall, sudden movements, riding a horse or bicycle or even the use of tampons.

The surgical procedure is quite simple and consists of the reconstruction of the hymen using fine sutures. If remnants of the original hymen still remain, vaginal restoration is performed in order to build a new hymen.
The duration of the surgery is approximately one hour.
For hymenoplasty: PreparationDuring the seven days prior to surgery, the patient should avoid taking antiplatelet drugs, as well as anti-inflammatory drugs during the three days prior.
Postoperative
The stitches are absorbable, so they fall out on their own.
During the first 48 hours, the patient may notice some discomfort.
It is important that during those 48 hours a relative rest is made.
